What the Tesla has cost so far: charging, a road trip and USA Auto | Ep. 5

In use

Episode 5 brings together the Tesla’s costs so far, two AC charging sessions and the Plovdiv → Varna trip with DC charging along the way. I also show the new comparison calculator and talk with Mitko from USA Auto.

Episode 5 gets to the figure we’ve been tracking since the project began: what the Tesla has cost so far. The breakdown is in the diary, and I walk through it after sharing more of my experience using the car.

With the repair behind us, the focus shifts to charging and driving. I show two AC charging sessions with two US-market Tesla Model Ys, followed by part of the Plovdiv → Varna trip and my impressions of DC charging along the route.

The episode opens with the new interactive calculator on USATeslata.com. It lets you compare your own car with the project Tesla using the recorded costs and charging data.

A quick note: the audio is slightly out of sync during the conversation. I noticed it after uploading—sorry about that.
