First longer trip with the car. About 950 km in a few days: Plovdiv, Burgas, the coast to Varna and Kaliakra, then Aytos and back to Plovdiv.

About 900 km on the map. Real driving this trip is around 950 km, including the coast loops.

Public DC stops are in the diary — 222.90 kWh for EUR 90.92 . There was no home charging. We left after I charged to 88% at FINES in Plovdiv in the evening: both AC/DC adapters failed, so I had to spend about 30 minutes charging so the car would be ready in the morning.

Below is that session: how fast it was and what it cost.

We stopped on the highway for coffee. At about 140–145 km/h the car was showing we'd arrive in Burgas at 7–8%. We did an 8-minute charge there and a coffee from Ekoto.

Then we got to Burgas, stopped at Aiko for lunch, and charged for about as long as lunch took.

We arrived in Varna at around 50%. In the evening, after walking around, we went to Grand Mall Varna and I charged at Electrip.

The next day we went to the Balchik Botanical Garden and Cape Kaliakra, then back to Varna. The following morning, before heading back, we stopped at Electrip again.

On the route we chose back to Plovdiv we stopped two more times, so we could arrive with at least 25%. I had to pick up the charger the next day.

Below is the Aytos charge.

On the motorway we had two charges, because the session dropped for some reason. Even in the quieter season, 10 of the 12 stalls were taken while we were there. That suggests more chargers may be needed before the busy season.

For the whole trip: about 950 km, 222.90 kWh of public DC for EUR 90.92 . We arrived in Plovdiv with 24% battery.

There will be a longer video — I have a lot of clips and we'll go through this in detail. This is a quick update so I can share the first impressions.

Ah, and the new charging section on the site is visible now. It is still not well aligned with the kilometres, but that should settle in a few weeks.

## What this trip cost per 100 km

For this trip, the public charging total was EUR 90.92 for about 950 km. That works out to EUR 9.57 per 100 km , with average consumption of about 23.5 kWh per 100 km . This is based on the charging recorded in the diary, so it does not include any home charging.

When I finished the trip, the car still showed 24% battery and an estimated range of around 110 km. It is only a car estimate, but it made the final number feel more useful: I had covered the long route, still had a reasonable buffer, and had spent less than EUR 100 on public charging.

For a simple comparison, I used the current average Bulgarian pump prices shown on 23 September 2026 — EUR 1.70 /l for petrol, EUR 1.95 /l for diesel and EUR 0.69 /l for LPG — and the fuel consumption figures above:

- Petrol at 10 l/100 km: EUR 17.00 per 100 km

- Diesel at 7 l/100 km: EUR 13.65 per 100 km

- LPG at 14 l/100 km: EUR 9.66 per 100 km

- This Tesla on this trip: EUR 9.57 per 100 km

The comparison surprised me a little. The Tesla was about EUR 7.43 cheaper than the petrol example and EUR 4.08 cheaper than diesel. It was also almost the same as LPG, coming in around EUR 0.09 cheaper per 100 km. That is the result for this trip and these public charging prices, not a universal running-cost claim. Charging at home would change the Tesla figure significantly.

Fuel-price reference: GlobalPetrolPrices Bulgaria, checked 21 September 2026.

For me, the bigger takeaway is that the car handled a long coastal trip without needing a complicated charging plan, and the running cost stayed close to LPG even though most of the charging was done on the road. I still want to align the charging records with the mileage more precisely, but this is already a useful first real-world comparison.
