## Post context

Hi! I am considering a 2017 Tesla Model S 75 Dual Motor, 520 hp. It was imported from the US a few years ago and is currently in working order. What should I expect from a car like this? What are the advantages and disadvantages of it being a US import? Thank you and best wishes!

First, get the VIN and run a Carfax report to see whether it was damaged when bought in the US; many are imported damaged because of the price. Minor or moderate damage is not necessarily a problem. If it was severe, I would stop the viewing and walk away. If that is OK, check whether it receives updates, the software version, connectivity, whether the app works and whether it charges at Superchargers. If those are OK too, have a specialist workshop inspect it, as with any used Tesla, for hidden or concealed problems.
